The Shelburne Longboat Society was specifically created to carry on the legacy and success of the Loyalist Landing 2008 celebrations. The Society was Incorporated under the Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies on 7th August, 2008 as a non-profit volunteer organization.
The Shelburne Longboat Society has two objectives:

The care, maintenance, management, ownership and use of two wooden 18th Century Replica Longboats built for, and as part of, the Loyalist Landing 2008 celebrations |

To promote an educational component that will enhance and advance the Shelburne County heritage for building wooden boats |
The Boats have been featured at a number of Events since 2008 including :
2009
Tall Ships Nova Scotia and 250th Anniversary of the Founding of the Royal Navy Dockyard, Halifax, NS and the Mahone Bay Classic Boat Festival.
2010
We travelled to Campbellton, NB for the reenactment of the Battle of the Restigouche and again to Mahone Bay for the Classic Boat Festival
2011
Natal Day Pioneer Landing, Yarmouth 250 Re-enactment of the Landing of the First British Settlers in Yarmouth Township, NS and again at Mahone Bay Pirate Festival & Regatta.

Every year we're in Shelburne Harbour for Founders Days and the exciting Burning Ship and do regular "Row & Rides" to let people share in the Longboat experience..
