The first Longboat was turned to enable the bottom strakes to be added and the whole completed hull to be painted.
At 8am on April 5th the building crew plus 10 or so volunteers "turned" the boat.

This video and series of stills will give you an idea of how you "flip" a 23' 11" wooden boat whose keel required 3 people to lift it, no guesses so far as to the finished weight.
We do know that it took 12+ to lift it at this stage of construction because we did it!
